Privacy, in plain English
There are no accounts
You cannot sign up, log in, or create a profile, because there is nothing to sign up to. We hold no user records of any kind.
The tools: nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere
The cost tool and every other interactive part of this site run entirely in your browser. What you tick or type stays on your own device, is never transmitted to us, and disappears when you close the tab. There is no database of anything you entered, because there is no database. That is the headline promise and it isn’t changing.
The contact form: only what you choose to send
If you use the contact form, your message, your email address and your name if you give one are sent to us so that we can read your message and reply. They go through a third-party form service that forwards them on, and they are held only for as long as we need them to deal with what you wrote. We never share them, and we don’t add you to anything because you got in touch.
This is why we ask you not to put medical details or anything about your own treatment in the message. We don’t want to hold that information about you, and you shouldn’t have to trust us with it.
The mailing list: an email address and nothing else
If you sign up for the monthly email, we hold your email address and nothing else. No name, no treatment stage, nothing about your health. You have to actively tick the box — nothing is pre-ticked, and you are never signed up as a side effect of doing something else.
The address is stored by a third-party email provider on our behalf, used only to send the monthly email, and never shared or sold. Unsubscribing is one click at the bottom of every email, and it takes effect immediately.
Being on an IVF mailing list is sensitive in itself — it says something about you before a single word is written. That is exactly why we ask for an email address and nothing else, and why the list is used for one monthly email and nothing more.
We never ask for health information
We don’t ask for your age, your test results, your diagnosis, your treatment history, or anything else about your body. Nothing on this site is designed to collect it. This is deliberate: reproductive health data is about as sensitive as personal data gets, and the safest place for yours is nowhere near us.
No advertising and no tracking for advertising
There are no adverts, no affiliate links, and no advertising or marketing trackers. We do not build profiles of visitors and we do not sell or share data with anyone.
Printing and copying
When you copy a question list, it goes to your device’s clipboard. When you print one, it goes to your printer. Neither passes through us.
Links out
Where we mention other organisations, such as the HFEA, the NHS or the Samaritans, those are separate services with their own privacy practices. Once you leave this site, their rules apply, not ours.
One practical note
If you are using a shared or family computer, remember that your browser keeps its own history regardless of anything we do. That is worth knowing if you would rather this stayed private at home.
